I can't say enough good things about this kids' knife. It REALLY works, as a knife should, but is very safe because of the size, shape, and bluntness of the blade. I gave this to my 5 year old, and 6 months later he still uses it almost every day. He did cut himself once using it, but he does not use the plastic safety guard that comes with it. Using the guard would prevent accidents. Love this product.

Wonderful items. Not too sure about the knife from France. Far too sharp even with a finger protector. I'll keeping it away from them for a while.
Overall lovely items! Thank you!

Make no mistake, it's a real knife

My 7 year old loves to help out in the kitchen. The design of this knife (the red circle provides a perfect resting spot for the at risk index finger) teaches your child how to properly hold a knife. The finger shield for the non-dominant hand reminds kids to curl in their fingers, while securing the food. It requires some supervision, of course, but I feel this knife is actually safer than using a duller instrument like a dinner knife. Proper technique and a sharp blade means less pressure, so less opportunity for wild cuts.

A safe, real kitchen tool for children

I highly recommend this knife. We gave it to my daughter when she turned 5 and she still uses it daily over a year later. It is a real knife and can cut anything she wants to cut in the kitchen, but is much safer than the pointed knives I use. We have taught her safe knife skills with this, and she happily uses the guard every time. The red loop in the knife helps her hold the knife correctly.
<br>My daughter absolutely loves to cook, and has such a sense of satisfaction when she makes food for us. This knife and an apron are the only special kid-sized tools she has needed!
